After studying chemistry which could not fascinate him enough, Peter followed courses of Communication (Science) provided by the University of Amsterdam and attended post graduate courses Marketing and Communication at the Open University and the Free University in Amsterdam.

Since 1975 he worked as a business-marketing/communication consultant for BF Goodrich Europe, Vredestein, Smith Food Group and many other companies.

From 1978 to 1986 he joined on a consultancy basis the marketing organisation of Bureau Ellens in The Hague where he became responsible for product marketing of among others ITT Europe, AT&T and Hoekloos. Further he coordinated a Western European public participation process about using coal fired, gas fired or nuclear power generators and the contribution of renewable and sustainable energy. This participation process was rolled out over numerous printed media, radio and television broad cast channels. In 1994 he took another sabbatical break and organized a multi media expedition through India (television documentary Man Eating Tigers) and travelled twice on horse back through one of the most isolated parts of the Andes Mountains (Chile and Argentina).

From 1995 to 1998 he continued his professional career.

From 1998 to 2000 he took another sabbatical break and organized with artist (painter), photographer and videographer Maaike Kallenborn multi media expeditions through a) the Sahara dessert where they pictured at close distance the Algerian Civil War (Algeria, Niger, Mali, Chad and Cameroon) and through b) the Amazon jungle where they searched for El Paititi, the Lost City of the Incaís (Surinam, Venezuela, Brazil, Bolivia and Peru).
